Jiangxi University of Science and Technology

This university was established in 1958. Since September 1998, the university has been under the jurisdiction of both the Central government and the Jiangxi Provincial government, mainly under the administration of the latter. This university is a comprehensive university of multi-disciplines, focusing on Engineering and integrated with economics, sciences, law, arts, management and education. A wide range of programs are offered at this school including full-time undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs, higher vocational & technical education programs, and part-time higher adult education programs. The students of this school have been enrolled nation-widely since its establishment. In the early 1998, this university was conferred the qualification by the Ministry of Education to enroll the students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and the oversea Chinese. At present, the total enrollment of students at this school is over 20,000, among which the enrollment of full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students exceeds 12, 000. The teaching staff and administrative staff total more than 1500. With a total area of 330 acres, This university consists of four campuses, all located in Jiangxi Province. It is bordered on the east by Fujian province and on the south by Guangdong province. Transportation is convenient as Beijing-Kowloon railway passes through the city. It also boasts scheduled flight to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, etc. Ganzhou is a famous historical and cultural city. The city is beautiful and lively with trees and flowers. Continuously, it has been granted the National Civilized and Clean City. Covering an area of 90 acres and with student enrollment of 12, 500, the Main Campus is situated in the downtown of Ganzhou. Occupying an area of 160 acres and with 3, 000 students, Jinshawan Campus lies in the southern suburbs of Ganzhou. The West Campus lies in the western suburbs of the city. Holding an area of 30 acres, it is still under construction and will be a new campus for all the full-time undergraduate freshmen of the main campus from September 2003.
