The London School of Languages and Cultures is a privately-owned school, located in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan. The London School was established in 1998 and has been gradually growing ever since. Locally owned and managed, The London School offers a positive, open and upbeat atmosphere to work in. We have excellent facilities at our school, including a library, cafe and modern, individual classrooms for each teacher equipped with a computer and projector. Free computer and internet access are available for teachers at the school.
Our students are generally hard-working as the majority of them are taking English lessons to improve their chances in state English examinations, or to improve their employment prospects. In addition to our EFL courses, we also specialize in Russian and Kyrgyz language courses for students from abroad, as well as custom-designed summer cultural trips and language immersion programs. Our staff consists of about fifty employees, of whom around thirty are local staff, teaching Russian and Kyrgyz to students from abroad and English to Beginner and Elementary level students. We usually have a staff of around ten teachers from Canada, the UK, and the USA, teaching English to students at the Pre-Intermediate level and above.
Bishkek is surrounded by mountains and the mountains begin at the edge of town, so there are endless opportunities for skiing, hiking, and traveling. The opportunities for traveling within Kyrgyzstan are boundless and particularly rewarding for hikers and nature lovers. If you need advice on planning trips anywhere in the country, the office staff will be more than willing to help, and our existing teachers can often give advice about places to visit and about how to get around.
